Invisalign Instructions
- Aligners must be worn at least 22 hours per day; you must only take them out when eating.
- Under no circumstance should you take them out for over 90 minutes at any one time.
- Do not eat or drink (apart from water) with your aligners.
- Avoid high surgery foods and drinks as having the aligners in make you at a higher risk of dental decay and gum disease.
- Make sure teeth are clean before putting your aligners back in.
- Make sure you are brushing at least twice per day and flossing at least once per day. It is important that you maintain a high level of oral hygiene whilst having invisalign treatment.
- Do not drink extremely hot drinks or wash them in hot water as it may warp the aligners.
- Should you lose your aligner i.e. No.10 then wear your previous aligner, No 9 until the new aligner is ordered for you. Replacement aligners will be an additional charge.
- If you take it upon yourself to stop treatment for a period that is longer than recommended by your dentist a charge may occur as new dental impressions may need to be taken and will incur an additional charge.
- Should you decide to not attend the clinic every two weeks and insert the new aligners yourself you MUST inform us if they do not fit properly.
- You have 180 days from the end of the treatment to inform us if there is any issue with movement otherwise a fee will incur as this is invisalign’s cut off point.
- You are aware that you could use fixed braces (sometimes called “traintracks”) to straighten your teeth and have been given the opportunity of being referred to an orthodontist.
